On Saturday, May 17th, People for Parks sponsored a project as part of Big Sunday Weekend Los Angeles 2014.

The project was the beautification of the Trinity Elementary School Park that was created by People for Parks.  It was time to weed the Edible Garden and to add 48 new plants to the Community School Park Gardens.  70 volunteers, including parents and Trinity school children, school staff, People for Parks’ supporters, Beyond the Bell staff, and Posse Foundation students, worked for four hours.  Big Sunday T-shirts, water, breakfast, snacks, and lunch were provided for our volunteers.  Activities for the children included planting cuttings into small pots to take home as a memory of giving back to their school park.  Everyone was excited to pitch in and stood in awe of the improvements made that day.  Trinity School children will have a wonderful place to play during school and as they enjoy the after school, weekend, and summer programs.

The group photos show how happy everyone was to participate in such a fun project.
